Panna caste is a minority community of grass cutters from Sri lanka's past, connected to the Patti caste, the caste of herdsmen in the Sri Lankan caste system.
It has been absorbed into larger communities and is virtually non-existent now. They were a part of the feudal land tenure system of Sri Lanka's past.
