A panel beater is a British term used to describe a person who repairs vehicles back to their factory state after having been in a collision. They do this using many skillful techniques ranging from planishing, welding, filling, and many more. Some accidents may require the panel beater to repair a panel of car section, or replace certain parts. Panel beaters are also able to do vehicle restorations, paint preparations, small electrical repairs, small mechanical repairs, and car detailing.

Panel beaters can be specialised in a particular field, road vehicles (cars, vans, 4WDs, etc) being the most common. They also extend to motorcycle repairers, truck and bus repairers, trailers, aircraft, and more.
