The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 is a compact 'Travel Zoom' camera that was announced on January 31, 2007[2]. It is the successor to the TZ1 that was announced in 2006, and was released in parallel with the TZ2. It sports a 10x optical zoom with the focal range equivalent to 28-280mm (35mm film equivalent) coupled with Mega O.I.S. image stabiliser. The camera is a fully automatic compact camera, hence lacking manual controls over aperture and shutter time. The TZ3 was awarded both the TIPA "Best Superzoom Digital Camera" award[3] and the EISA "European Compact Camera" award[4] in 2007. Recently announced successors to the TZ2 and TZ3 are TZ4, TZ5 (known as TZ15 in Asia, Australia and New Zealand) and TZ50.
