[edit] Notices
PAN AM WORLD AIRWAYS DOMINICANA dba PAWA DOMINICANA was established in 2003 as a subsidiary of Pan American World Airways from the USA, which is also operated under a joint venture with Boston Maine Airways from Portsmouth, NH. On April 2005, SERVAIR, a Dominican Corporation dedicated to offer Airline Handling Services at all airports in the Dominican Republic, purchased the airline completely and started a new certification process under the new Dominican regulations which allow the airline to operate under local control with Dominican registered aircraft (HI).
Finally on May 2007, the company received the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) as Part 121 from the Instituto Dominicano de Aviacion Civil (IDAC) which allows the airline to operate scheduled services from the Dominican Republic to North, Central and South America as well as to the Caribbean Region and charter services worldwide.
Early in July 2007, the Dominican Republic acquired Category I from the United States of America and will allow PAWA Dominicana to enter United States Territories in Commercial flights.
