Pan Am Systems (formerly Guilford Transportation Industries), is a privately held transportation and airline holding company that controls the following divisions: railroad; transportation related brands; and federally certificated airlines.

• Pan Am Railways (formerly Guilford Rail System), a regional freight railroad network that covers most of northern New England

• The Pan Am Clipper Connection brand

• The once-resurrected but now defunct fully certified airline, Pan American Airways, which was finally relinquished on November 1, 2004.

• The currently operating and fully certified airline, Boston-Maine Airways, which itself operates charter and scheduled passenger airline services between the northeastern United States and Florida and the Caribbean. In February 2008 the US Department of Transportation proposed the revocation of Boston-Maine's air carrier certification, as it "is not financially fit and does not possess the managerial competence to conduct any air transportation operations and has failed to comply with the regulations governing its operations." ^[1]

The rebranding of Guilford Transportation Industries to Pan Am Systems took place in March 2006.

Pan Am Systems is privately owned by Timothy Mellon, an heir to the Mellon banking fortune in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and several other stakeholders.
