Pan (潘) is a Chinese family name.
A Chinese surname that also sees use in Korea and Vietnam, though the origins within those countries may not be the same as the Chinese one.
One source lists Ji Sun, a descendent of Zhou Wen Wang as to being the origin of this surname.[1] With his descendents having taken up the name of the area he governed, situated north of Shaanxi.
