180 degree (or so) stitched up pic of Dunedin, New Zealand.
Large version at Image:Dunedin Panorama.jpg.
This is the small version, so not much is discernible. There seems to be a curve in the horizon near the centre of the picture, and the sky is quite mottled (as the camera made the edges darker, which then had to be removed after stitching).
The photo was taken from a college fire-escape on a western hill above the hospital and University area, looking towards the Otago Peninsula. The left of the picture is about 25 degrees east of north, with Mt Cargill (named after the leader of the settlers who arrived in 1848) on the skyline. To the right of this is Signal Hill, with Logan Park Quarry visible at its right (southern) end. The university buildings are immediately in front of Signal Hill in this view.
The red brick buildings in the centre of the picture are part of the Otago Medical School - behind them is Dunedin Public Hospital. The city centre is towards the right, as is the Otago Harbour basin; St. Kilda and South Dunedin lie on the flat land beyond this. The hill to the right of the sea is Forbury Hill, which rises above St Clair Beach.
