Pampore is a town and a notified area committee in Pulwama district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

As of 2001 India census[1], Pampore had a population of 46,595. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Pampore has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 49%. In Pampore, 7% of the population is under 6 years of age. This area stands for the peace and is taken as the most peaceful area of the state. Pampore is historically important town because here the famous Sufi poetess "Lala Ded" used to live and also because of the presence of the descendents of famous and historic ruling dynasty of Mir's.pampore is also famous for its saffron fields.
