Pambiche
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pambiche, a Latin American Dance derived from the "Merengue" - the national dance of the Dominican Republic. The Merengue was sometimes called the "Palm Beach One Step" and it is said that "Pambiche" is a derrivation of "Palm Beach." The Pambiche is slower and less syncopated than the Merengue. They are considered by some to be the most difficult of all Americanised Latin American Dances. Both dances appear in Jean Francaix's suite "Cinq Danses Exotiques".
