Hello Pale blue dot, welcome to Wikipedia.

You might find these links helpful: How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should read our policies at some point too.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump, or ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

  • You can introduce yourself on the new users page.
  • You can find lots more information, including open tasks and daily tips, at the community portal.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp as well.
  • Before saving a page, it's a good idea to use the Show preview button to review your edits. Also, consider writing a summary for each edit.

Again, welcome! Chris Roy 04:42, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Hi, just a suggestion, you might want to check out Wikipedia:Manual of Style for information on our formats, etc. Also, I hope you're not adding that info as an advertisement; we have strict policies on that sort of thing. yours, Meelar 06:45, 2 May 2004 (UTC)

Hi, Pale blue dot. I appreciate your edits to the Data structure page, and although it's somewhat debatable, I felt like the accuracy of the statements is difficult to justify. Very few data structures are constructed using linked lists, other than stacks, queues, and some hash tables. The tradeoffs between arrays and linked lists are already discussed in both their articles. Finally, the last paragraph of data structure (my edit, I admit) discusses much the same idea. I quote it here, with an added change based on your paragraph:

The fundamental building blocks of most data structures are arrays, records, discriminated unions and references. For example, records and references are used to build the simplest fundamental linked data structure, the linked list.

I hope you're in accord with these changes; if not, please explain. Thanks. Derrick Coetzee 01:07, 12 May 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Steam engine

Nice picture of a steam locomotive, but I think it would do better in a locomotive article. Steam engine is for steam engines in the general sense -- including locomotives, ships, powerstations, stationary plant of all kinds. Placing a picture of a locomotive there only reinforces the misconception that steam engine == steam locomotive. —Morven 09:55, Jun 9, 2004 (UTC)

Hi fellow Wikipedians! I've never replied to any1 on this page - this is my first time.

Keep up the good work every1 and I hope you all continue to enjoy Wikipedia as much as I do. May the force be with you! Pale blue dot 15:16, Jun 9, 2004 (UTC)

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for all the photos you've been putting on the Lahore pages. They are great! I haven't had a chance to work on the Lahore pages in a while, but will hopefully do some stuff soon. Keep the pics coming! --Katangoori 03:42, 31 Jul 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Pakistanis/People interested in Pakistan-related topics on Wikipedia

Would you consider listing yourself at Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Pakistan? Also, please check out the Talk page for that "Project". We need work on articles related to the Edhis.iFaqeer (Talk to me!) 00:04, Nov 30, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Unverified images

Thanks for uploading the following:

I noticed that they currently don't have image copyright tags. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? You already used {{gfdl}} (released it under the GNU Free Documentation License) for the 3rd, 5th, and 8th images of this series. Are the rest of the same? Thanks so much. [edit] Pictures

You have some great pictures and I was wondering what you think about uploading them to the commons so that people of all wikipedias can enjoy them. I'd also like to call you extremely lucky for being able to view such beautiful sites in person. gren 22:49, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion at Talk:Pakistan

Would you like to join the animated discussion on the Pakistan's talk page? The current issue is whether "Pakistan is famous for its support of Taliban and 9/11 terrorist" is a suitable sentence to start the article's first paragraph. Your contribution would be much appreciated, as the current discussion seems to be more of a dialog between Ragib and SamTr014 Talk:Pakistan. Thanks !--PrinceA 07:11, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Badshahi Masjid

This picture, Image:Badshahi_Mosque_July_1_2005_pic32_by_Ali_Imran.jpg, that you uploaded needs to be further reviewed. Did you mean to release the picture into the public domain? Currently, the picture has no tag. The Pakistan article is going through a featured article nomination and that is one of the issues raised. Pepsidrinka 20:00, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Package_Diagram_for_168-Pin_PGA_Embedded_IntelDX2™_Processor.JPG

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Package_Diagram_for_168-Pin_PGA_Embedded_IntelDX2™_Processor.JPG. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 22:15, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
