[edit] Usage
You can use this template with no parameters, and it will just say "This article incorporates text from the Encyclopædia Britannica Eleventh Edition, a publication now in the public domain."
Alternatively, the following optional parameters are available. These have been added in support of more robust citation:
- article
- Britannica article name.
- url
- a URL for the article online. Can only be used in conjunction with the article name.
- author
- author of the Britannica article. Can only be used in conjunction with the article name.
For example:
{{1911|article=Anarchism|author=[[Peter Kropotkin]]}}
produces
- This article incorporates text from the Encyclopædia Britannica Eleventh Edition article "Anarchism" by Peter Kropotkin, a publication now in the public domain.
{{1911|article=Anarchism|author=[[Peter Kropotkin]]|url=http://62.1911encyclopedia.org/A/AN/ANARCHISM.htm}}
produces
- This article incorporates text from the Encyclopædia Britannica Eleventh Edition article "Anarchism" by Peter Kropotkin, a publication now in the public domain.
(Unfortunately, that particular scanned copy is poor enough that it would not be worth linking from our article.)
