Talk:Palestine (Sacco comic)/Comments
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have a problem with the following quote, "He also gives space not only to Israeli history, but to his interactions with Israelis, many of which are positive." This first makes Sacco historical account of Israel seem accurate. There are several errors with this statement. For one Sacco doesn't have any 'cites for his sources (it is a comic book afterall) and it is rather history through the eyes of the Palestinians. His relationship with Israelis is rather negative thoughout the whole book. The book takes a very critical stance of Israel implying that Israel frequently engages in torture and raids homes like American soldiers did in Vietnam. In fact he has one interaction with Israelis firsthand at the end of the book, which is used to demonstrate that Israelis can't defend themselves.
