Palladam is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 325 metres (1066 feet).
It is Close to both the major cities, Coimbatore (38 km away), manchester of south india and Tirupur (15 km away) which is called as 'Dollar City' of Tamil nadu and lies on the routes of Tirupur-Coimbatore, Tirupur-Udumalpet, Tirupur-Pollachi, Coimbatore-Madurai, Coimbatore-trichy.

The nearest airport is at Coimbatore about 30 km away from Palladam.
There is no rail transport to the town.
The nearest Railway Station is at Tirupur and about 16 km away from Palladam.

The main business are Poultry, Textiles, Agriculture and Windmill. In and around Palladam there are many weaving centres & knitting centres ,hatchery meant for export to foreign countries, earning foreign exchange. Some of the well known poultry farms are Pioneer Breeding Farms, Suguna Poultry Farms, Shanthi poultry group, Swathi poultry group which are pioneers in the Indian Poultry industry.
It has 3 Cinema theatres namely Alankar, SAPS and GP.

As of 2001 India census[2], Palladam had a population of 49,145. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Palladam has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 65%. In Palladam, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
It has it own Library, which serves the neighbouring villages and smaller towns.
