Palha Carga

Palha Carga (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC: Padja Karga, São Vicente Crioulo: Palha Karga or Carga) is a mountain range, a valley and a coastline in the south of the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde.

The area features a beach unsafe for swimmers, its soil is podzol or black and volcanically originated. Rocks covers the coastline making it a treacherous beach, mountains surround the area especially to the northern part. The valley is large and extends up to nearly 4 km north and features a dry stream or ribeira. It features a vast sand with rocks looking similar to the red planet, Mars but with traces of bushes and grass since the climate of the area is not used ro vegetation due to dry conditions.

The area does not offer much panoramic views except for its southern portion of the island, the island of Santa Luzia can rarey be seen to the east at the coastline.
