The company Palfinger AG is an international manufacturer of cranes, hydraulic lifting, loading and handling systems. The company was founded in Schärding/Upper Austria and its headquarter is in Bergheim/Salzburg. Locations are in Austria, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Brazil, USA and Canada.

Around 64 percent of the Palfinger Group is owned by the Palfinger family and around 31 % is in diversified holdings. In connection with a share repurchase programme Palfinger AG acquired 5 %. Since June 1999 Palfinger has been listed on the official market of the Vienna Stock Exchange. Since mid-June 2000 the shares of Palfinger AG have also been traded on the OTC market of the Stuttgart, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt stock exchanges. Since March 2005 Palfinger AG has also been listed in New York.
