Palestine ISD is led by a superintendent chosen by the Board of Trustees. The current superintendent, Mr. Jerry Mayo, is retiring at the end of the 2007-2008 school year after 41 years as an educator.[3] The board named Dr. Thomas A. Wallis, current principal of Mabank High School, as Mr. Mayo's successor.[4]
