The Pale Rose finch has been adopted as Jordan’s national bird  Description: The Pale Rose finch is a small sized bird: — Height: 16 cm — Weight: 17 – 24 grams — Colour (highlighted during mating season)  Male: Pinkish rose with light brown wings  Female: Light brown  The Pale Rose finch (Carpodacus synoicus) is a species of finch in the Fringillidae family. Its natural habitat is hot deserts (Petra).  The first recorded sighting for the Pale Rose finch was in Petra in 1995 by Ian Andrews and was referred to as the Petra Rose finch (Wardy) bird.
