The Pale Rose finch has been adopted as Jordan’s national bird Description: The Pale Rose finch is a small sized bird: Height: 16 cm Weight: 17 – 24 grams Colour (highlighted during mating season) Male: Pinkish rose with light brown wings Female: Light brown The Pale Rose finch (Carpodacus synoicus) is a species of finch in the Fringillidae family. Its natural habitat is hot deserts (Petra). The first recorded sighting for the Pale Rose finch was in Petra in 1995 by Ian Andrews and was referred to as the Petra Rose finch (Wardy) bird.
