Palawa is a census town in Hazaribag district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

As of 2001 India census[1], Palawa had a population of 9,757. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Palawa has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 53%. In Palawa, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age.
