.Palmaner is located on the NH4 Highway which connects Bangalore and Chennai. Being on the border of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, you will encounter a mixture of languages and cultures. It has a population more than 100,000. Major villages near Palamaner are Kallu Palli, V.Kota, Baireddipalli, Pathikonda, Gangavaram, Lakkanapalli, Peddachellara Gunta and Eduru.
As its located, on the border of TamilNadu, Karnataka and AndhraPradesh, you would find people with different cultures and origins. People in Palamaner are soft, kind, timid and most importantly socially aware. The society here is closely knitted and are very affectionate to each other. People here have all the basic amenities like Hospitals & Schools. In North side it has court and very big Industrial area and veterinary college. In south side it has Government College and school and big banker’s colony.
The name PALAMANER has originated from the name "PALLAVAN EERU". EERU in Tamil means a LAKE which was dug by PALLAVA's for the people living around. The temperatures are moderate as it is located at a higher altitude. This place is very scenic and cool. Many people compare this with Ooty, which is famous hill resort. It is surrounded by valleys, hills, water-falls and forests. The forest cover around the town is famous for the wild elephants. This is the only place in Andhra Pradesh with wild elephants.In North side out of the 20 kilometers it has famous “KIGAL” valley and dangerous water falls. So many members died their. That is the one of the best shooting place. In south side out of 7 kilometers it has a famous lake called “KALYANA REVU”. This is the symbol of love. The name of KALYANI was the beautiful girl. She fell in love with a handsome guy. for Some reasons she couldn't succeed in her love. That’s why she committed suicide in that lake. From that time it is called “KALYANA REVU”.
The typical day in Palamaner starts from 6am when all the shops start opening and ends before 9pm when everyone starts going to bed. Everyday you would see tons of vehicles passing by the main-road as it connects Chennai and Banglore which has turned out to be a nice place to stick to small business.
Travelling through time machine way back in time, in the later 1930s plague prevailed in the region taking thousands of lives which then got controlled by praying god in the form of Ganga Jatra. It happens on May 15th every year and people from different regions participate for blessings and well being from the holy deity "Gangamma".
The town has a Cattle Farm which helped the breeding programs of the region. The reason for the popularity of Dairy Industry stems from the efforts of this Institute. Emmaus Swiss High School(ICSE) and Leprosy Hospital also help this region in providing Health and Education services.
The town is also popular for Pottery. One can encounter road side shops with beautiful pieces of pottery work. This town was popular for roof tile manufacturing for a long time.
Rural areas near Palamaner are famous in silk production, so govt has decided to setup textile park in 500 acres. And it is also famous for Tamato Commisson market, where farmers from different parts of district will come to sell the tomatoes.
Palamaner is 200 km from Chennai, 136 km from Bangalore and 108 km from Tirupathi. So this is next hot spot for many industries.
The town has a mixture of Muslim and Christian communities apart from the majority Hindu population.
The Major investments are in Dairy and Poultry because the Climate suits for these Businesses. There are many Dairy and Poultry Farms coming up in the Recent Years.
There are many Small Scale industries Developing in and around Palamaner and the Government is giving aid in developing such industries.
You can enjoy the beauty of Mango Gardens spread across the road side while you travel on the Highway.
Every Friday vegetable market is famous here, all formers gather in the city market place and see their vetables/fruits/food grains/dry fish/house hold artilces.
You have Adventure Spots for trekking in forests which is spread across 200 km around the borders of Andhara Pradesh and Tamil Nadu which Covers Forest containing Wild Life, water Falls and Hilly Region for Rock Climbing and River Rafting.

You can visit the Andhara Ooty located near palamaner which is called Horsely Hills only a few hours drive from Palamaner.

there is a place called GANGANNA SIRASSU WATER FALLS in deep forests of south of KALYANA REVU which is not easily accessible unless people have adventurous nature. One can enjoy the rare beauty flora and founa at Ganganna Sirassu. After the Elephant herds invaded the the forests of Palmaner, people don't dare to visit this place.This is a water falls falling from about 1000ft height, and you can flow of water throughout the year.
The famous Terrakota art as mentioned pootery above is a rare art of the soil of Palmaner. Who ever visit the shops terrakota will be astonished at the beuty,craftsmenship,design, models and colours of the artistic pottery. There is huge demand for the terracota items in Rajasthan,Gujarath and punjab states of India . One can see the terracota items of Palmaner in any of the Art Exhibitions, and handicraft emporias of in most of the cities of India.
The forests of Palmaner has benn declared as Kyvaly Elephant Sanctury,by the Government of AP, and you can find variety of wild animals in it's original habitats, If one can go in to the nearyby woods in the early morning. One can visit beautiful temple of Lord venkateshwara at Keelapatla village, Which is said to be as old as Tirupathi Temple.
