Palak Muchhal is teenager singer from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. She and her younger brother Palaash Muchhal perform stage shows across India and abroad to raise funds for the poor children's who need financial assistance for the medical treatment of heart Disease.[1][2] [3] [4]

Palak Muchhal is born in middle class family. Her mother, Amita Muchhal is homemaker and her father, Rajkumar Muchhal serves as Accountant in private firm. She is Class X student of Queen's College, Indore. Palak started singing when she was four year old. At the age of six, she started singing door-to-door in Indore city to collect fund for soldiers on Kargil warfront. Her decision to use her voice to help others was triggered when she saw poor children using clothes off their back to clean train compartments.
When she heard that a 5 year old boy named Lokesh from her own city, Indore, is in need of financial assistance for urgent heart surgery she used street vendor's cart as stage for her singing stage show. Luckily she collected enough money for the heart surgery in only one show. Before she could help Lokesh, a Bangalore based Cardiologist Devi Prasad Shetty operated the surgery of Lokesh free of cost after seeing news on TV. But other poor parents needing funds for treatment of heart disease of their children approached Palak for help. And thus began her mission to collect funds for child heartpatients by performing stage shows across India and abroad. She has learned lessons in Indian classical music from Pandit S. N. Mishra. Palak and her parents do not receive any benefits from her charity shows. She just get one doll as a gift from the children who have got new life because of funds raised by her. So far she has received 234 dolls representing 234 lives she has saved.[5]

So far, by their more than 300 stage shows, Palak and her younger brother Palaash has raised 12 million rupees which helped to save life of 234 children. People who need financial help for treatment of Cardiac surgery of their children register their requests through the Palak Heart Foundation. Currently there are more than 400 child heartpatients on waiting list. [5]. Palak raised around one million rupees for 2001 Gujarat earthquake victims. Palak is also helping 39 children of sex workers from Nagpur. She has raised funds and built a building for these children to stay. She also raised funds for renovation of Indore Palace. She has also performed stage shows in London, Belgium, Dubai, Bangkok, Pakistan.[6][7] Palak's help is not confined to Indian children only. She also offered help for a 2 year old Pakistani child Fatima Noor who has hole in heart. [8][9]

- Palak Muchhal has been awarded Silver Medal for the year 2000 by Vice-President of India Krishan Kant as National Child Award For Exceptional Achievement. [10]
- Palak Muchhal has been winner of Sony Entertainment Television (India) TV show Cadbury Bournvita Confidence Champions. Palak Muchhal has made her entry in Limca Book of Records for her social commitment.[11]
- Palak Muchhal has won Pogo (TV channel) 'Pogo Amazing Kids Award in Leader category'. [12] [13]
- Palak Muchhal is recipient of highly prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Award for the year 2005. She shared this award with personalities like Industrialist Mukesh Ambani and Miss Universe Sushmita Sen. [14][15][16]
