Paladin Academy, is an elementary, middle and high school located in Weston, Florida. This including individuals diagnosed with attention deficits or dyslexia. The accredited program is a participant in the State of Florida McKay Scholarship program for students with learning challenges.

[edit] History

In the early 1980s, Dr. Deborah Levy opened the Developmental Resource Center (DRC) in the City of Hollywood in South Florida. The school started as an institution providing a clinical approach to helping students who suffered from numerous learning challenges overcome them and gain the tools to become successful academically. Several satellite schools were opened in the 1990s in City of Delray Beach and South Miami. In 1998, Nobel Learning Communities Inc. purchased the school which was renamed Paladin Academy that same year. Since the transfer of ownership, the methodologies and techniques used in helping students to overcome their learning challenges have been used nationwide in sister schools. By the end of 2000, approximately ten schools featured programs based on the Paladin Academy curriculum.

Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, by 2005 the original school in Hollywood remained the only location still offering a full college-bound high school program. In 2008, the school announced that it would be relocating to a facility in the City of Weston. Taking place in August of the same year, the relocation is allowing the introduction of new electives including swimming and field sports.
