[edit] Principal's Message

Ever since its establishment in 1966, Pakistan International School, Al-Khobar has been providing quality education to Pakistanis boys and girls, making concerted efforts for the personality build up of its students, ensuring they would be inheritors of glorious Islamic tradition and values and prove themselves as future leaders and architects of a great nation. In this connection, I fully appreciate my team, my faculty, for their devotion and commitment. It is because of their commendable efforts that our school has been declared the Best Overseas Pakistani School four time. Despite some of our limitations, I am quite confident that our mission of education Pakistani students will continue with the same zeal and fervour.

[edit] Mission

The prime objective of Pakistan International School, Al-Khobar is to provide the best possible education to students, to equip them so that they can meet future challenges successfully and to develop in them a genuine passion for learning amid the ever widening horizons of knowledge. And, at the same time, keep them fully conscious of the onerous responsibilities which lie on their shoulders as Pakistanis and Muslims.

[edit] History

With the oil boom in the Sixties, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was becoming a nucleus of trade and commercial activity. Pakistani engineers, doctors and professionals from all walks of life were pouring in. But, in the absence of any Pakistani educational institution, they could not keep their families here for long. There was a pressing need for a school. At that juncture, Mr. Abbas Hussain Malik founded the Pakistan Community High School (PCHS) with the sole objective of giving quality education to Pakistan youngsters, boys and girls alike. So devoted was Mr. Malik in his mission, so selective was the teaching staff recruited and so immaculate was his management style, that PCHS soon earned the fame of first-class seat of learning. The school, now renamed to Pakistan International School, has been declared as the Best Overseas School for its distinguished academic performance thrice. In recognition of his immensely valuable services, the Pakistani community gave Mr. Abbas Hussain Malik the title of "Sir Syed the Second."

Now, after the passage of four decades, Pakistan International School, Al-Khobar has three campuses and 113 well-qualified teachers. A number of honourable teachers and professors have worked here as Principals, Vice Principals and Section Heads.

[edit] Administrative Committee

The school flourished and thrived as long as Mr. Abbas Hussain Malik was here. After his departure from the school, Board of Directors system was introduced. The system was dissolved after a few years time due to misconduct and corruption, which resulted in the depletion of the School's finances. Then, an Administrative Committee was set up, which dragged the school back from a complete disaster and made the institution financially viable.

The latest Administrative Committee consists of:

1) Ch.Muhammad Siddique (Chairman)

2) Dr.Zulfiqar Janjua (Secretary)

3) Dr.Muhammad Ashraf Noon (Member)

4) Mr.Muzammil Hussain (Member)

5) Mr.Muhammad Tariq Malik (Member)

6) Mr.Faheem Ashraf (Member)

[edit] Academics

Pakistan International School has two wings. The beginners course starts from the Girls wing where children start their journey for quest of knowledge. Boys and Girls study from Kindergarten to Class III in the same wing. After their promotion to Class IV, the boys and girls join their respective wings. Junior school occupies central position in the overall set up of Pakistan International School, Al-Khobar. The students of the Junior school are assessed and promoted internally at the end of the Academic Year. It is, however, pertinent to note here that the Annual Examination is not the only criterion through which the progress and academic development of the students is assessed. Monthly Progress Report is sent at the end of each month. The teacher's evaluation, monthly tests and the examinations are just a few of the yard sticks by which each student is assessed and evaluated. Parent/Teacher meetings are held twice in an Academic Year so that the parents' can discuss their child's academic progress. Pakistan International School, Al-Khobar gives great priority to the selection of Syllabus and material to be used at the Junior school.

The students of the Senior School and College have consistently achieved excellent results over the years, thus bringing credit to their alma mater, parents and teachers. In the span of four decades, many students of the Senior School have obtained ranks in the Top Three at Pakistan level. Acknowledging the high academic standard and excellent results, Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad has, on many occasions, declared Pakistan International School, Al-Khobar as the Best Overseas Pakistani School.
