Shane Vigil (born 1981 July 26) is an American male of mixed European and Cuban descent.

[edit] Early Life
Immaculately conceived and later birthed in Inglewood, California, Vigil was soon spirited away to and exiled in the backwaters of North Carolina where he was raised by wolves. He did not know the light until the age of 10 and could not communicate on what one would consider a normal human level until age 17.

Vigil began his formal education as Gentry Primary in Erwin, North Carolina. In kindergarten he was sent home with a note that read, "Shane will not keep his hands off the girls" while in the first grade his teacher Mrs. Smith walked around the classroom with a ruler and measured the lengths of the teeth of each student so as to compare them to the six inch long teeth of Tyrannosaurus rex. The following year he was in a combination class of second and third graders. In his own third grade class, Vigil was awarded a ribbon for reading the most books of any student.
He then proceeded to the now defunct Erwin Middle. In January of his fourth grade year, Vigil and his classmates wrote letters to soldiers during the Gulf War. In fifth grade, Vigil took to playing the violin while in the next grade he gained a position on the Math Counts team. In the seventh grade, Vigil served on the yearbook staff. He wrote an extensive paper concerning the Holocaust in the eighth grade.
In 1995 Vigil entered Triton High where on the first day of his ninth grade year he accidentally knocked one of his future best friends unconscious for several minutes. In coming years he performed wall tests, had embarrassing experiences with Gatorade, and stripped in parking lots. In grade ten, Vigil was tortured for an entire semester of Natural Resources Management I. He served as captain of the History Bowl team in the eleventh grade and acquired a taste for Ralph Waldo Emerson. In his final year of high school Vigil ventured to Washington, D.C. In May 1999 he graduated high school.
The following August, Vigil moved to Wilmington, North Carolina where for the next year and a half he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He left school in December 2000 for personal reasons, moving to Los Angeles, California in May 2001.
For many years Vigil has hoped to return to university in the hope of completing undergraduate work against a degree in anthropology, eventually applying that work towards graduate-level work in systematics. After much time and consideration, Vigil has chosen to pursue urban studies instead of anthropology.

Presently, Vigil is employed as the underwriting manager for a Los Angeles based merchant services provider. Previous jobs have included data entry clerk, news writer for a university newspaper, volunteer work at non-profit organisations, pharmacy retail associate, and baker.

Vigil identifies as gay. His Myers-Briggs type is ISTJ and his Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type is 9.
Vigil is immerses himself in public transport, human evolution, indie rock, Apple Computer, urban design, megafauna, and mass extinctions. Additionally, he enjoys The Evil Dead, This American Life, and Strangers With Candy. When not engaged in any of the foregoing, he is most certainly not engaged in or enjoying the following: 1968, banana, basketball, biblical archaeology, bread, celery, Cetacea, Cher, clown, James Bond, mayonnaise, milk, Philip Seymour Hoffman, puppets, raisin, rice, Robert Frost, Sean Connery, watermelon.
