[edit] PS3-only and PSN

Bean23, please explain why a game released on PSN cannot be in the Playstation 3 Only category? If it is a remake of a game released years earlier (ie. Rampart, Gauntlet II, ...) then I would agree. How would you categorize games like SOCOM:Confrontation or Warhawk as those are going te be released as a download and on BD? They are new games not previously released on another platform.

Response: Pain looks like an excellent downloadable game, but it is still a Playstation Network game and not a full-game. Thus it belongs in the Playstation Network category rather than the Playstation 3-only category. Look at the Xbox 360 exclusives page; there are not any Xbox Live Arcade games included in their list of exclusives. Likewise, there are not any Virtual Console games included in the list of Wii exclusives. If we do not treat this category the same way with all consoles, then the likely result is that they will all be added to the exclusives list and the results will thus be incorrect. Is Pain an exclusive to the PS3? Yes and no. It's truly an exclusive to the Playstation Network.

From the Playstation 3-Only games category section :
Video games released on the PlayStation 3 without being ported to or from other video game consoles.
By this definition games distributed by PSN belong there too. I'm also wondering why you keep dragging XBox Live Arcade games into the discussion. Most of those games are indeed ports, but there are some exclusives distributed through XBLA. Why would anyone discriminate because of distribution method? I've started a discussion on the Playstation 3-Only Games category asking everyone's oppinion whether or not PSN games don't belong there.
And where are you placing Warhawk? That game is going to be distributed through PSN and Blu-ray. --193.75.228.252 17:43, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Further discussion is done on Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Video_games#What_does_"only"_mean? as this applies to multiple distribution and game platforms.
