Talk:Pain (American band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is an improvement over no Pain article, but I think it needs to be heavily expanded on. I'm going to work on a complete rewrite for a while and put it up when I get it finished. Mouseclicker

[edit] Release dates
The release dates for Midgets With Guns and Wonderful Beef are one year later than on the Pain website. --62.226.27.154 09:40, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'd recommend you find a linkable external source which backs up this information and include it as a footnote for those two albums, or people may read the Pain website and revert the change due to the conflicting information. -- Y|yukichigai 01:47, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Amazon's listings for these albums support the official website. Poiuyt Man talk 22:27, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:62715.jpg
Image:62715.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 04:36, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

[edit] Genre
Just because a band says it is not ska, does not mean they're not. Don't you think? 134.173.88.151 11:07, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
The band is not ska because they don't have any songs that are based around the ska beat. -- KillerDeathRobot 19:16, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- "The characteristics of ska punk vary" - from the Ska punk article. When I search for Pain on Google, I find approximately equal mentions of reviewers classifying them as punk or ska genres. It seems to be the popular consensus that they contain elements of both. Where have they stated that they don't consider themselves ska? Need a reference, or delete it from the article. - After searching through the news archives of the official website, the only mention of Pain being a ska band is here. "many people think we are a ska band" -- from the wording it sounds like they don't consider themselves one.
-
- All Music doesn't have a biography on them, but lists them as "Indie Rock", "Alternative Metal", and "Third-Wave Ska Revival".
-
- Unfortunately, with Pain being so obscure, I don't think we're going to find anything more definite than the aforementioned sources. Poiuyt Man talk 04:35, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

- I take it back; I missed one of the articles. Here is the rant by Dan saying they're not a ska band. Poiuyt Man talk 05:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
