Paipa is a town and municipality in the Colombian Department of Boyacá, part of the Tundama Province a subregion of Boyaca.

Paipa is located to 15km of Duitama. It is considered as the main turistic city of the region, with large hotels and Hot springs
[edit] History
Paipa was founded by the Spanish Empire in 1568, when they discovered the hot springs of the place. Ever since this has been the base for the tourism in the region.

[edit] Varga's Swamp
This is where took place the Vargas Swamp Battle, on July 25 of 1819. A sculpture there made by Rodrigo Arenas Betancour commemorates the event.

Paipa's hot springs form a complex of approximately 5HA, with several public pools and private ones, besides of sport installations and shops.
