Hello and Welcome! I hope you like the place. --mav

Hi! I deleted your entry at Stompin' Tom Connors. Wikipedia can't tolerate copyright violations, even when you give the original source credit. If you want to write an original article, please do so. -- Zoe

Aww man, copyrights suck!!! The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pagingmrherman (talk • contribs) 2003-02-02 06:59:33 (UTC)

I understand that you feel Myers-Briggs Type Indicators are the greatest thing since sliced bread, but please do not add personality types to biography article headers (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style). I noticed that you did it in the case of Linus Torvalds, if you did it in other cases, please clean it up. If you want to keep them in, do the following:

  1. Get a reference for each type classification -- who has classified this person and where was this classification published?
  2. Move the classification - with that reference - to a "Personality" section at the bottom or something similar. "XY has classified AB as foo in the Myers-Briggs personality type classification scheme based on ..."

I'd prefer to have this limited to the respective articles, though (e.g. ISTP), but also with references. --Eloquence

Your recent article on The Turbans was seriously in error and several of the other articles you put in today are extremely short and non-encyclopedic. Perhaps you need to do a little more research before committing to writing an article and also read up on the idea of NPOV, the neutral point of view. Ortolan88

I just removed your content for Linux zealot. It did not explain what a linux zealot is, even remotely. matt 06:25 Feb 5, 2003 (UTC)

You need to understand that this is a serious endevour to produce an encyclopedia. I have had to alter or delete several of your entries. --rmhermen

Yes I agree. --mav
that's ok I like doing stubs sometimes they get through sometimes they don't. At least some people fix them up. I'd rather throw something in there and let someone else do the cleanup The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pagingmrherman (talk • contribs) 2003-05-06 04:58:06 (UTC)
Clean-up is a lot of work. Most people would rather work on their own entries than clean up other people's messes. --mav
ya but there are a *few* people that prefer to clean up rather than start anything new. Some of the largest trees can grow from a pile of shit!! The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pagingmrherman (talk • contribs) 2003-05-06 05:04:04 (UTC)
  • Please, In this case if you want trees it's better to plant seeds than spread shit. Perhaps a better metaphor is that much of what you've planeted has been noxious weeds, and you're imposing on others to check what you planted in any given place. Please don't put in random guesses or stuff you just make up. Usefull link: http://www.google.com Spend a little time looking something up, and you can probably find some good information to start or add to an article. [edit] DVD

I noticed you posted a new article titled "Dvd". You may not be aware that there's already another article titled "DVD". —Vespristiano 01:25, 2004 Feb 20 (UTC)

woops, I didn't see that (I thought it was a glaring omission) The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pagingmrherman (talk • contribs) 2003-05-06 05:04:04 (UTC)

I notice you are still having problems knowing how to format your articles. Some usefull links for you to take a look at:

[edit] Admin Nomination

Hello, I would appreciate your help by earning your vote as an admin. I have been here about 5 months now and have been nominated. I have made many contributions and have improved on my editing and behavior. I take this seriously, that is why I have gotten into it with Anthony so much. You can look at my user page yourself and see my contribtions. I would appreciate a vote in the yes column if you agree. Again, thanks for your time and help. ChrisDJackson 02:34, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I saw the Breadbox article you recently created. While I applaud your efforts to improve Wikipedia, if you are making entries this short, you should really mark them with as stubs (or in this case, substubs). In any case, this article seems to be mainly a definition of "breadbox", so I am nominating it to be moved to Wiktionary. If you have more to add to it, go ahead, and remove the Wiktionary notice. Next time, if you want to add something like this, please do it directly to Wiktionary. — [[User:Knowledge Seeker|Knowledge Seeker দ (talk)]] 19:16, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Your edit on Wikipedia

Your edit describing a list of top editors on Wikipedia was inappropriate. Entries to the encyclopedia articles should not be made in the first person, and also should not describe comments like "I sure as hell can't find it." Please read the Manual of Style for contributing to the Wikipedia. Thank you. Bratschetalk | Esperanza 03:18, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

[edit] Parks in the city of Windsor, Ontario

The parks and recreation lists the distance from the Bridge to Hiram Walker on its bike trail, every few hundred meters, with decimals, such as 1.1, 2.0, 3.5, meaning the distance from the bridge, or distance to it. Even the Ganatchio Trail has "20.7" and 20.3" on it near Sandpoint Park. Riverfront Trail has "5.8." at its present eastern end, the junction with Lincoln Avenue, Riverside Drive, and the bike lanes.

User:Raccoon FoxTalk 20:25, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Oh well, maybe it is, I used the 'measure distance' thing in MS Mappoint and it came out to 5km and I thought I read it in the Windsor Star before.

[edit] Please try to edit responsibly

Here's an edit where I did a bit of cleanup to one of your stubs. I really think you should be able to take care of such things yourself by now. You've been here a good while, but you keep making newbie type edits. Please review the above links or ask for help if you don't understand how to do things. -- Infrogmation 13:21, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Youtube

Hi, as I mentioned on the discussion page, youtube currently does not use vp6, and the player swf is version 7. You can confirm this by grabbing the player swf file and any flv from browser cache after visiting youtube, then there are tools that will tell you the versions. So, could you fix the article please as it is incorrect?

[edit] Roof Rack

Hi there, I moved your Roof Rack article to Roof rack; no difference, except the removal of capitals on the second word (because it wasn't a name). All the best Fourohfour 15:15, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Scout Association of the Cayman Islands

Do you have evidence that camping is illegal in the Cayman Islands? I find it surprising, so if you can not source it I suggest your edit should be reverted. --Bduke 02:31, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Candy

Can you give a source as to why you are claiming sour things aren't candies? 170.232.128.10 19:40, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I added sour candies to candy and someone took it out. So I guess they've decided sour "candy" isn't candy.

Don't let them get away with that without making them find a source for you! AFAIK being sour doesn't disqualify sour sweets like skittles from being candy.Zebulin 23:08, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] war of 1812 article

Thanks for replacing erroneous war of 1812 casualties figure with sourced accurate numbers. I knew 16,000 war dead was much too high.Zebulin 23:32, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Camelot.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Camelot.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:08, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
