[edit] Summary

This is a reduced resolution version of a scan of El Fagr's ( El Fagr.org ) headline page from their October 17, 2005 edition. This scan was downloaded from El Fagr's website, where it has since been removed. According to a report by the Assyrian International News Agency [1] the Muhammad cartoon caption reads, "Continued Boldness. Mocking the Prophet and his wives by Caricature.".

[edit] Fair use rationale

The image is believed to qualify as fair use since:

  1. This version of their headline page scan is a significantly lower resolution copy of the original scanned page.
  2. The source will not be harmed financially as it is highly unlikely they will ever republish or otherwise try to benefit financially from this scan.
  3. it is politically significant, as the page depicted shows that there was no controversy when the Muhammad cartoons initially appeared back in mid-October 2005 in this Egyptian paper.
  4. it adds significantly to the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy article and
  5. is being used there for informational purposes.
