[edit] Charismatic Christianity WikiProject

Hi, Paddles. You might want to consider joining the Charismatic Christianity WikiProject. David L Rattigan 07:39, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Are you who I think you are?

Are you the Tim Anderson you studied electrical engineering with Simon Job at UNSW and went to Moore Theological College? Journeyman 23:58, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

No, sorry. I know people from UNSW and Moore, but didn't study at either (or engineering). Paddles 09:32, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
OK. Thanks. Journeyman 23:29, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] prods

You wrote: Delete per nom; unverifiable. It doesn't meet any of the criteria for Speedy though. You could whack a prod on it, but that won't neccessarily be resolved much quicker than AfD. Paddles TC 03:11, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

I have actually been accused of trying to sneakily delete a file because I applied a prod. I avoid them now completely. Ste4k 09:22, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Fixing" non-broken redirects

Wikipedia:Redirect Until/unless someone actually makes Borg a disambiguation page or some such, there's no reason to change those links. Also, someone probably will roll through and move the page to "Borg (Star Trek)" per what seems to be the Trek-specific article naming convention. --EEMeltonIV 23:41, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] LongGammon

(In response to User_talk:Ptkfgs#Longgammon_in_Backgammon)

I removed it because, besides the one page at Backgammon Galore, and a bunch of Wikipedia mirrors, I couldn't find any information on the game. It also hasn't come up in any of the literature I've been reading during my searches at the library. Perhaps it is known better by another name? ptkfgs 17:12, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, Longgammon is a variant offered on more than one online site ([1] is one example) and in at least one standalone software package ([2]). It also gets mentioned, in various levels of detail, on other pages such as [3] and [4]. Given the commercial nature of some of those links, I could see them being removed pretty quickly if I'd included them as citations. I think it's supposed to be mentioned on dmoz but it isn't serving me pages at the moment.
That should be enough to substantiate that it exists and is known as Longgammon, so I'd think it'd be appropriate to at least include it in the Backgammon article (I don't feel a need to set up a standalone article like Hypergammon until we have more to say about it). Thoughts? -- Paddles TC 07:57, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Survey Invitation

Hi there, I am a research student from the National University of Singapore and I wish to invite you to do an online survey about Wikipedia. To compensate you for your time, I am offering a reward of USD$10, either to you or as a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation. For more information, please go to the research home page. Thank you. --WikiInquirer 13:07, 3 March 2007 (UTC)talk to me

[edit] Re: Disambiguation in United Church of Christ

The problem is that the link was appropriate to the article Evangelical back in the fall when there was actually content on the article Evangelical that explained the meaning/usage of that word in the European / Reformation context. (Go back in the history to, say August or September) That content has seemingly disappeared. In the context used in the United Church of Christ article, neither Evangelicalism nor Evangelism are the correct destination for this link. Emerymat 16:53, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jessie Penn-Lewis copyedits

Thanks for your copy-edits[5] on the Jessie Penn-Lewis article--I should have done the "so and so (minister)" links properly myself, but do appreciate all the folks at Wikipedia who come after my edits and make everything better for those using Wikipedia for information. [edit] Wikipedia Cleaner

Hi,

Apparently Wikipedia has been updated to a newer version (1.11 alpha) in the last few days and this update has broken Wikipedia Cleaner. It has been reported here. I didn't find the time to investigate this before (working for Toulouse underground transportation, and it just opened today, so I was quite busy). I am probably going to look at this today.

For the window size, I have to add an option for memorizing window sizes. Will also do it when I have time.

--NicoV 16:19, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Fixed with version 0.26. It was due to a modification in Wikipedia itself. --NicoV 17:24, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your AWB edits

Hi Paddles,

I think something is broken in your AWB setup. It is making changes such as replacing "dorsal fin" with "dorsal fin". I just reverted you on Orca because your edit broke a bunch of good links. Can you look into what's going on? Thanks and take care, Kla’quot (talk | contribs) 15:54, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I was using an option to simplify removing multiple links to the one article, (trying to keep just the first link) but now realise that this is not actually required by WP:MOS-L - plus there was something going wrong and sometimes the first link was being taken away. But that's my fault, not the fault of the tool; thanks for highlighting that I wasn't being careful enough. Paddles TC 04:55, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Ah, I see. Thanks Paddles! Cheers, Kla’quot (talk | contribs) 05:34, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
