Padre Burgos is a 5th class municipality in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 8,926 people in 1,672 households.

Padre Burgos is also famous of its white sand beaches like Tangkaan Beach, from where you can sea the island of Limasawa; the Likay-Likay Beach, where you can go fishing and snorkeling; the bukana which is like a small swam of water and serve as a home of many fishes in buenavista, the floating Balsa of Bas.

It has an orphanage called "Kinderhilfe Philippinen", managed and sponsored by Mr. Jürgen Schneidt, a German Citizen.There are also programs of foreign divers the corals cays supported by the local government a marine sanctuary to eradicate the problem of most fishermen in the town

Padre Burgos is also known for its "budbod" (suman), a sticky rice which is very sweet. Padre burgos is also called tamolayag, thats is what it call on past time before it is Padre burgos.There is also a one man who is great hero of the town saving lives of every man that need in help, everything they need help they call Captain b as in Captain Bmors!
