Padanilam is a malayalam (language spoken in Kerala state, India) word meaning Soldiers field. These were fields or stadiums and surrounding areas used as Coliseums.
Padanilam also is a reputed Catholic family name in the state of Kerala, India. The Family is mainly located in Cheeranchira, Changanasserry Taluk of Kottayam District(Resettled from Vazhappally),(Kerala), India. It branched out from Nelpurakal Family and other sister families include Moola, Ayiramala, Marattukalam, Thottasserry and Kallukalam.
