[edit] proposed deletion

This article is actively contributing to the List of insurance companies in Hong Kong, and as such is relevant to Wikipedia. If there are concerns about the authors (read my) writing style please feel free to discuss it with me. I have tried to include a number of relevant quotes, sources and citations, and will continue to do so as i progress... thanks for any inputScrugbyhk 04:10, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Please read the Wikipedia:Verifiability to see what is required. Essentially, the article must be created from independent, third party sources where Pacific Prime are the main subject. At the moment the references provided consist of press releases and stories where Pacific Prime are trivial mentions (if mentioed at all). Nuttah68 07:10, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[1] - one of china's largest physical newspapers, [2] - non pr, And the PDF, which is about a major issue (the opening up of china's insurance markets to overseas investors) gives serious credence to the company's MD (verifiable and notable) and the direction that he's taking in China. With the new insurance reforms and the expansion of the market, even getting a mention on such an issue is, for people who live in the area and work in the industry, quite a big deal. And the papers are independent third party sources... The reason that was given for deletion was notability.... i'm just looking for some consistency as to what is required, if 9 different people are telling me 9 different things and upping the expectations for a first time editor to that extent, then i don't know how anyone gets a look in on this site.Scrugbyhk 07:32, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

None of those references are about Pacific Prime. The MD commenting on changes does not make the company notable. You need references about the company. Getting a mention does not satisfy the criteria laid out at WP:V, which is policy and must be met. Nuttah68 09:25, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
True. There's still no reference that leads to a good story about Pacific Prime. If this is a major company, it must have been written up in the business press somewhere. But I can't find any press coverage other than press releases, directory entries, and brief mentions in articles on other subjects. Is there coverage in some non-online medium that can be cited? I've been looking in Google and can't find any. The reference doesn't have to be in English; Wikipedia has people who can check references in other languages. --John Nagle 19:47, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
The wallstreet journal articles are fully about the company, however they are user subscribe only... over the next couple of days i'll be looking at my trade journals to see if there is anything else... thanks for the helpScrugbyhk 00:50, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah sorry about that, I added those on but it looks like they only work if the referrer was Google.
