[edit] Official name

Although Pakhna and Pahna is also occasionally used, Pachna is the official (see [1]) and most widely used name (see: [2]) so article should remain under this heading. Georgeg 09:58, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Pakhna is the only correct name. Pachna was used only when the nonsensical romanisation system was enforced (literal meaning of the word). Neo_^

In such cases, there is often no correct and incorrect spelling. However, as it stands, Pachna is in fact a more appropriate article heading for the reasons stated above. ie:

  1. it is the official nomenclature used by the statistical service of Cyprus
  2. it is more widley used

If you have grievances with the spelling practices of the Republic of Cyprus, I suggest you take it up with them, but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and as such official spellings are used. Of course alternative spellings can be included (as had been in this case) in the article text. Georgeg 16:10, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
