Talk:Pac-Man/to do
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Make this a good article
This article needs the following issues fixed to meet the good article criteria (see Talk:Pac-Man#Good article nomination has failed):
- There is a bit of redundancy in the article
(paku-man, pakupaku, etc, get explained twice). - Some removable phrases like "here is" and "there is".
- Some sections and paragraphs are only a sentence long.
- Some sentences do not appear to be complete.
- There are too many facts that are not cited. Many of the items that are cited do not appear in the References section of the article.
- It's not clear that the decriptions of ghost patterns, knockoffs, character descriptions from cartoons, etc. are from sources other than original research.
- There are no fair use rationales in the images, as far as Bugmuncher has seen.
- with reference to defender, I believe defender came AFTER pacman - this needs to be researched
- Clean up redundancies in "Games featuring pac-man" and "Pac-Man in popular culture" sections
- There are a lot of uncited assertions (may now be addressed)
-
- Almost everything regarding the gameplay of the other games, such as Pac-Mania, Jr. Pac-Man, etc. If such facts were covered in Hirschfeld books, they should be cited.
- Reliable sources are also needed for the Christmas special and other cartoons, or the extra detail should be removed.
- Split-screen level: Needs citations for the Reagan/Yee incident, as well as the Twin Galaxies and Billy Mitchell record-keeping.
- Clones and bootlegs: Needs citations for information on bootlegs. Section also needs major cleanup.
[edit] Other
- Replace Image:A2600_Pac-Man.png with an animated GIF version that shows all four flickering ghosts. NeonMerlin (talk • email) can mock this up if colour values are provided for the other ghosts.
- Keep the trivia section in chronological order and stop it from getting too large with unverifiable, relatively unimportant statements.
- We could use a free image for the merchandise / popular culture section of some Pac-Man merchandise from the era.
