[edit] Improvements

Maybe I will give it a try but I think I will post a link back here on some ham forums. This way people who are more expert on digital mode operations can add to this. Alan Kroeger 17:20, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Criticism

Recently Pactor II/III have come under fire for being closed patented protocals with a single source. This and the inability of users without SCS modems to decode proper identification of stations transmitting with Pactor II/III has led to some heated discussion on the subject. I think that this article should include a section detailing this. --Kayfox

I don't think personal opinion and Amateur Radio politics belong in this Encyclopedia entry, and is not the place for mention of "Heated Discussion". This is a Technical brief on what Pacor is. What? How? When? etc.

I have rewritten the article to wikify and for clarity. Have added at at the end some of the negatives about PACTOR for balance as suggested by Kayfox. Thanks to all who contributed to this point, believe we have a reasonably good article now. K6DHP
