Paco is a New York band which formed in 2001 with Ivy vocalist Dominique Durand and multi-instrumentalist Andy Chase. Having run into composer Michael Hampton and engineer Gary Maurer (who had worked with Hem and Fountains of Wayne,) their first album, This Is Where We Live was released in 2004 to much praise.[citation needed] The debut album skimmed on the same lines as Ivy's sound, adding a bit more electronic style. Although it was released a year after Andy Chase's Brookville debut Wonderfully Nothing, Paco's This Is Where We Live has been identified as the link in the chain between the sound of that project and Ivy.
The album was produced and recorded at Stratosphere Sound, New York, United States and at Michael and Andy's home studios.
