Pachaimalai Hills

Pachaimalai is part of Eastern Ghats in Tamil Nadu. Located near 11.18° N 78.35° E. Pachai in Tamil means green. This hill is much greener than some of the other hills in its vicinity. VeeraRamar Dam is located in this hills on Kallar.

Rivers in this hills include Kallar and Sweata Nadi. Waterfalls in this hills include Mangalam Aruvi, Koraiyar Falls and Mayil Uthu Falls. There are indigenous (tribes) living in this hills. The malayalis trade some of their surplus hill produce to the towns below on the plains, trading in for items not available in the hills. Jackfruit is one of the popular seasonal agriculture produce from this hill.

Towns around this area: Thuraiyur, Esanai, Perambalur, Gangavalli, Thammampatti, Arumbavur,Malayalappatti, Thedavur and Uppiliapuram.

Districts covered are Tiruchirappalli district, Salem District and Perambalur district.
