[edit] Greenhill & Company article deletion without a trace

Hi Pablo. This paragraph is not about the underlying question of whether or not the article should be in wiki, but instead about what happened to the article and related edits once you flagged it for deletion. I'm trying to do some research to understand how Wikipedia works with respect to the above removed article. Perhaps this is the way Wiki normally works, but there are a few things that seem odd. First, there appears to be no trace of the deleted article. Second, all record of contribution edits are missing. Thus, not just the original edit which created the article about Greenhill & Co., LLC. is missing from my contribution history, as is your edit flagging the article for speedy deletion missing from your history, but my edit requesting review of the flag. Also missing are the articles Talk page and any edits to it. This includes my history lost the logging of the edits to the tthe Talk page for the article. Clearly, my intent was to initiate a discussion but it appears that the article was deleted solely based upon your flag. Could you explain your comment that you were not able to delete it? You obviously were able to flag it. Who deletes it, is it just an automated process? Thanks in advance for your help. I'll independently look into the process for bringing the article issue for an administrator / editor to appeal your flag and don't want that issue to cloud my genuine failure to comprehend what might likely be ordinary course process for wikipedia "spam" deletion. Again, I appreciate your alerting me to flag as soon as it was done. I do not question your motivation, just wish that more time could have been spent on the facts. [edit] Deletion review for Greenhill & Company

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Greenhill & Company. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article, speedy-deleted it, or were otherwise interested in the article, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Hi Pablo, I've found additional facts not in the original article which I believe establishes the significance and relevance of the article that was deleted. Just giving you the heads up in case you want to join in. Thanks again for your help. Knowsetfree 01:35, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Didn't get there in time, but looks like you got some good advice. Cap'n Pablo .  ... Gaaarrrrr!!!! ...

[edit] Thank you

Thank you for reverting the vandalism on my user page (and for editing the sophomoronic thing). You rock! Cheers, #29 (talk) 17:33, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

No problem - your vandal is indefinitely blocked now, so I suppose we can look forward to him cropping up in disguise soon! pablo : ... hablo ... 19:08, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks again, seems you were right. (Did you notice some dude blocked me cos I was possibly a bot? :D) #29 (talk) 20:34, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I saw that - there must be a lot of suspicious people around who haven't discovered the delights of tabbed browsing! Cap'n Pablo .  ... Gaaarrrrr!!!! ...

[edit] Deletion

Hi,

i recently did a quick artical on the Colombos new Capo. Josh Da Goodfella.

He is a real person and i have met him and his family before.

He is a real person and recent Capo Of The Family

Could you tell me why its been put up for deletion

Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Officialmafia (talkcontribs) 09:42, 14 July 2007

Hi. This article is copied directly from the page at officialmafia.com. That's one reason for deleting it, you can't post pages that are copies of other pages.
There is no assertion of notability, and no independent, verifiable sources quoted. In fact there is no proof that this person exists - your assertion that you have met him is not enough.
This, and your other edits seem to serve mainly to point readers toward the website officialmafia.com which is very similar to your username. pablo : ... hablo ... 09:50, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Thats my webpage! www.officialmafia.com

My email address is Joshdagoodfella@officialmafia.com

I know him quite well, and i could get him to contact you,—Preceding unsigned comment added by Officialmafia (talkcontribs)

I don't want him to contact me. What you need to do is demonstrate why this person should have an encyclopaedia article here. Did you follow the links in my post above? - I'll put them here again: copied, verifiable, very similar to your username, officialmafia.com. There is quite a lot of information there about how to create an article. pablo : ... hablo ... 10:21, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
I have reported your username (see post on your talk page) as it concerns me that most of your edits are links to, or copied from, your own website. pablo : ... hablo ... 10:40, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Just a heads-up

One of your correspondents has posted here. Interesting. Most of the Mafioso wannabes I have run across seem to be a year or two older. --CliffC 13:03, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Note: Following is copied from User talk:CliffC in line with new policy of keeping conversaions intact
Thanks for the heads-up, I'll keep an eye to see if any other editor responds. Why this crime family would appoint a seventeen-year old British kid to their ranks is indeed interesting! pablo : ... hablo ... 13:10, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Bugsy siegel(rapper)

Bugsy siegel(rapper), an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Bugsy siegel(rapper) satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bugsy siegel(rapper) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Bugsy siegel(rapper) during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. -- Jreferee (Talk) 07:30, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Bizarre. I didn't create it, but I did move it from this title to one with a capital 'S'. Neither survived a look at notability however. Cap'n Pablo .  ... Gaaarrrrr!!!! ...

[edit] Corinna, Corinna

Thank you for helping me get the photo there! I know Corinna will like this when she sees it.

She does not deserve all the hatesites, many were created against her simply because she is a Christian. These hate sites are awful I have seen them.

This article is honest, and not cruel like the hate sites.

Is the page safe? If I go to sleep will it still be there in the morning? I worked so very hard on it and thank you for taking the time to actually help me. I know you are really busy. THANK YOU. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarahylju (talkcontribs) 07:47, 15 July 2007

Sarah
Anyone can edit the page, anyone can nominate it for deletion. It certainly looks better than it did, but some more sources would help. pablo : ... hablo ... 07:51, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I need HELP.

Please help me.

Someone wrote that it looks like Corinna Fugate wrote the article but I wrote the article , me, Sarah.

Please tell me the page is safe so I can get some sleep it is 3AM here.

Please help and thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarahylju (talkcontribs) 08:08, 15 July 2007

You can see why they might be confused - you do identify with Corinna a lot. Anyway, as I said before, the page can be edited by anyone (check the page history and you will see a list of edits). The more verifiable, independent sources you have, the better.
Please always sign your posts on talk pages (particularly mine) by typing four tildes thus ~~~~. It makes it a lot easier to read. pablo : ... hablo ... 08:31, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I cant find my password to do it.

Not the same.

I am so tired..

When I was turning the computer off for sleep I saw people wrote "Kill Snow White"

Saying they were going to take down Corinna Fugate's article.

They said it was a hate site against corinna which it is not, and they were saying the photo was copyright and could not be used.

I have permission to use the photo

Plus the link they have claming it is another photo is incorrect.

What is happening? I am so tired and dont know what to do I have been at this for while now and am getting depressed.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarah127jjj (talkcontribs) 09:05, 15 July 2007

I can't see these comments on the image. Get some sleep. Please sign your posts. ~~~~ pablo : ... hablo ... 09:42, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nah.

'noticeable' was just sloppy. dependence, independence, etc., I have a known issue with, and I keep *doing* it. Every damn time, I think I'm getting it right, and it still always seems to be the wrong guess ;-P I think I'm going to have it tattooed on my wrist or something. --Thespian 12:52, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I've just made 3 typos in a three-word edit summary so I know how you feel. I keep using [[ when I mean to use {{ and vice versa. pablo : ... hablo ... 13:06, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of Fellacion article

I've already contested your deletion flag with a brief plea on the discussion page to the article, again, please give time for me to complete the article, if not, perhaps it is best as a stub until then?

Thanks

hey thanks for teling me about the verifying thing... i think i did it rite, can you check it on the degrassi high bad blood pt 1 page? thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by PeaceLova13 (talkcontribs) 05:59, 19 July 2007

See your talk page. No, I don't think Bad Blood Part 1 (DH episode) meets the criteria for a notable episode of this series.
