Pablo Acosta was an infamous Mexican narcotics smuggler, and adviser and partner of Amado Carrillo Fuentes. While firstly smuggling only marijuana and heroin, Acosta becoming increasingly involved in the cocaine trade near the end of his life. Pablo Acosta made his drug empire in the once little dusty border town of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. He later was killed inthe border village of Santa Elena . The book Drug Lord by investigative journalist Terrance Poppa chronicles his rise & fall, including his severe addiction to crack cocaine & his subsequent decline & fall in the late 1980s.
