Martinho Martins Mukana, also known as Paíto (born 5 July 1982 in Maputo, Mozambique) is a Mozambican footballer from who currently plays for Sporting de Braga in the Portuguese Superliga on loan from RCD Mallorca.
Paíto began his career at Sporting Clube de Portugal in the 2002-03 season. He had a regular place in the starting line-up, but threatened to leave the club after a conflict with Cristiano Ronaldo. Eventually he stayed, and in the next two seasons found himself in and out of the lineup in his preferred position of left-back.
He then left for Vitória de Guimarães where he was influential despite being relegated to the Liga de Honra, Portugal's second division. Purchased by Spanish La Liga side RCD Mallorca, Paíto returned to Portugal to play for Sporting de Braga, on loan from the insular side.
[edit] International career
Although Paíto played in Portugal for years, he chose to represent Mozambique.
He played for his "new" nation in two 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, and in the 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
