P.Janardhan Reddy , born in Hyderabad, (January 12, 1948 – December 28, 2007), is a politician who had served as MLA for 5 times for the Andhra pradesh's biggest assembly constituency Khairathabad. He was the leader of labour and has huge following in the masses. He has three daughters and a son P.Vishnuvardhan Reddy. He was MLA for the khairathabad constituency in 1978, 1985, 1989, 1994, 2004-till date

He attained a Polytechnic Diploma, but he served people better than a Scholar.

A Very Good Person, who reacted very quickly to the public problems, better than all other political leaders in AP.

But Unfortunately he faced a great trouble from his own party members, He was not a portfolio in the present congress govt, He was a very good leader who worked very Efficiently as Opposition leader during 1994-1999, with just 25 MLA's.But his party had not recognised him.

[edit] Entry into politics

Starting his career as a trade union leader in 1967, PJR was first elected to the assembly in 1978. He was Labor Minister in the ministry headed by his mentor T Anjaiah in 1980. He had been a known loyalist of Gandhi family-Indira Gandhi, Sanjay, Rajiv and now Sonia Gandhi. He was suspended from the party on a couple of occasions by running a 'dissident campaign' against the state Congress leadership or chief ministers.

Senior Congress Leader and MLA from Khairathabad Assembly Constituency P Janardhan Reddy died of heart attack on Dec 28,2007. He is reported to have fell unconscious when stepping out of his car while attending a party meeting. He is immediately rushed to the KIMS but is believed to have breathed his last on way. The doctors confirmed his death. PJR is a diabetic. Senior Congress Leaders expressed shock at the news. Few leaders rushed to the KIMS Hospital itself while others began arriving at PJRs home. Hyderabadis in large numbers began to arrive at the house of PJR. On the day he passed away all the shops were closed.

Popular as PJR, Janardhan Reddy is known for expressing his views pretty straightforward. PJR is a native of Hyderabad and was born on January 12, 1948 at Domalguda. He is elected to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for five terms - 1978, 1985, 1989, 1994, 2004. A well known trade union leader, PJR represented many industrial trade unions before entering into mainstream politics. He worked as the Supervisor in AP Electrical Equipment Corporation, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad, as President, Associated Glass Industries Workers Union, as President, A.P. Electrical Equipment Corporation Employees Union, as President, A.P. Agro Industries Employees Union and as President, Krishi Engines..

PJR helped the Andhra Pradesh State Congress get a strong hold not only in Hyderabad but in Andhra Pradesh too. He led the Congress Party in the position of CLP Leader when the Telugu Desam Party was in power. He actively fought for a fair share of funds for the Telangana region. He is in close friendship with fellow Congressman and Sanathnagar MLA Marri Sasidhar Reddy, along with whom PJR used to raise dissatisfaction at the development works for Telangana. Hyderabadis can never forget his efforts to get water for the region. PJR is considered as an icon for the down trodden in the region.

His body was at display for the final time at Gandhi Bhavan, Hyderabad and then his last rights will be performed at Amberpet Crematorium. This was telecasted live on all regional tv channels. Lakhs of people attended the final procession.at 4.20pm on 29 dec
