P.S. Senior Secondary School is situated in the Mylapore area of Chennai. The school enjoys a reputation for academic achievement and holistic education. Each year, a significant number of students enter prestigious higher education institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Anna University etc., and receive accolades in national academic and extracurricular events. It is rated among the top 5 schools in Chennai city.

The school was founded by Mr. Pennathur Subramaniam. The increasing emphasis of the Tamil Nadu state Government on Tamil being used as the medium of instruction was ultimately causing a noticeable fall in Tamil Nadu’s share of employment in all- India and Central services and in the National Science & Technology establishments. In 1973, P.S. Charities decided to vigorously promote the establishment of English medium schools. The P.S. Educational Society started 9th June 1976 P.S. Senior Secondary School, starting with standards I-VII from the academic year 1976-77.The school is also famous for producing extremely famous students.
This group of schools, along with Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, D.A.V Group of schools and Vidya Mandir form the educational elite of the Chennai education system.

The school is situated on a 3.2 acre campus with an extensive playground as its epicenter and divided into four blocks:
- Administration: consists of the principal's office, the computer science laboratory, the electrical gadgets lab, the seminar and examination halls, the audio visual room and the mathematics laboratory.
- Science: houses the classrooms for middle and senior school students, the Science and Typewriting labs and the library.
- Yoga: extracurricular activities such as music and dance and indoor sports.
- Primary classrooms.
There is also a kindergarten block with a small playground.
The main school playground has a badminton court, three volleyball and throwball courts, and a basketball court. The school has an academic orientation but also lays great stress on extracurricular activities.
The school has an excellent group of alumni who hold prestigious posts around the world. It is among the schools in the city having the maximum number of Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Technology, Trichy (NITT) entrants and also a commendable performance in national and international Olympiads.
The school also has the distinction of achieving 100% success in the board examinations conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), New Delhi year on year.
