Aaron Charles Wills (stage name: P-Nut), (born June 5, 1974 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is an American musician, bassist for band 311, and music producer / bassist for band Hollows Follow.

[edit] Background

Wills was given the nickname "P-Nut", because of his peanut shaped head. He was playing bass when a friend made this observation and the name "P-Nut" stuck. He is the youngest member of the band. He is the son of an Air Force / Vista Care Hospice chaplain. Before joining 311, he had a job as a dishwasher at Shoney's for one week.[citation needed]

P-Nut is known for his "funk-slap" style of playing the bass. He has mastered palm muting with his left hand and has really created a sound of his own by dragging his right hand across the strings while muting with his pinky. He also played violin before the bass guitar. P-Nut was quoted saying that John Norwood Fisher has influenced him into Warwick bass guitars.

He typically plays on Warwick 5 String bass guitars through an SWR Rig, including 2 custom Megoliath 8x10's with the 311 emblem. P-Nut now has his own Warwick Signature Bass, a customized Warwick Stage II Streamer.

P-Nut is also a strong supporter of the Los Angeles Lakers, often wearing their jerseys while playing shows (similar to Flea, bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers).

When 311 took a short break after their 2006 Summer Unity Tour, P-Nut started playing with a band named Hollows Follow. He made his debut as a music producer and released the band's first full-length album First Birthday June of 2007. Along with producing and playing bass guitar for Hollows Follow, P-Nut also contributes his masterful skills with the violin, upright bass, and various percussion instruments to help shape their sound.
