Příbor (IPA: [ˈpr̝̊i:bor]; German: Freiberg in Mähren) is a town in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 8,800 inhabitants (as of 2004).
The town is notable as the birthplace of Dr. Sigmund Freud, founder of the psychoanalytic school of psychology.
Freud was born 6 May 1856 in Locksmith's Lane 117 (German: Schlossergasse / Czech: Zámečnická ulice). The Freud family left in 1859 after having lost their business in the economic crisis of 1857.
