[edit] Biography

Halmosi initially joined Argyle on loan from Debreceni VSC until the end of the 2006–07 season, with a view to a permanent move at the end of the season [1][2]. A £400,000 permanent deal with Argyle was completed on May 16, 2007 [3] making him the record signing for the club at that time.

Halmosi had been linked to moves to other clubs in the United Kingdom including Celtic FC [4] and Blackburn Rovers [5] prior to his move to Argyle.

Halmosi is a Hungarian International player, having won 15 caps for his country and had previously played alongside another Hungarian player Ákos Buzsáky who was then playing for Argyle, in the national side. His previous clubs include Haladás Szombathely, Grazer AK and Debreceni VSC.

Péter made his Argyle debut in a 3–1 away win against Norwich City on January 13, 2007. He is widely considered to be a key player for Argyle, with some fans going as far as to call him the most naturally talented footballer to play for them in the modern era. Halmosi's latest goals were a brace in Argyle's 3–1 win over Burnley on 23 February. At the end of February he was nominated for the player of the month award, however he was pipped by Stoke midfielder Liam Lawerence.
