Pälkäne

Pälkäne is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 4,321 (2003) and covers an area of 346.59 km² of which 107.34 km² is water. The population density is 18.1 inhabitants per km².
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
From start of year 2007 Palkäne and Luopioinen were merged to new municipality of Pälkäne.
