Päivi Maria Räsänen, née Kuvaja (born December 19, 1959, Sonkajärvi) is a Finnish politician. She has been leader of the Christian Democrats party since 2004.

A physician by education, Räsänen got into politics during the early 1990s. She has been in the Riihimäki City Council since 1993 and in the Finnish Parliament since 1995. She had been first nominated for Member of Parliament in 1991.

Räsänen is married with five children.
