Are the just-added images within copyright? I see no copyright tags on the image pages. Schissel : bowl listen 01:33, Apr 1, 2005 (UTC)

These look like images taken from banner links. Tim Rhymeless (Er...let's shimmy) 04:42, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

No, those are from the Cast page. --151.204.140.36 01:29, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

Which means they're probably not within copyright. Tim Rhymeless (Er...let's shimmy) 05:31, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
Errrr... they likely are under copyright, actually. Is anyone on DCS's good side to ask him whether Wikipedia may use these images? I shouldn't ask him, due to an Internet fight just over a year ago... Chip Unicorn 16:59, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
I thought a little longer. The pictures are almost certainly under fair use, so I don't think that contacting him is that vital... Chip Unicorn 21:06, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
I've contacted him about it. I haven't talked to him too much, but I have at least, before. I'll tell you what results from it. Tim Rhymeless (Er...let's shimmy) 02:51, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
He responded to my email as follows: "I have no objection; feel free to go on using them." If anyone needs the contents of the email, feel free to contact me. Tim Rhymeless (Er...let's shimmy) 23:58, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Weasel Words

The sentences about the similarities between O & M and other comics have weasel words. I changed "most" to "some", but both references to readers are still weasels. Also, the sentence comparing O & M is almost unreadable.

[edit] Ozy's species

Ozy is an arctic fox. See http://www.ozyandmillie.org/faq.html I have made the correction

[edit] ISBN?

Is there any way to get the ISBN of Tofu Knights? (Or is there even one?) It doesn't appear to be on Lulu's site anywhere. - Octan 21:51, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

There is no ISBN number on my copy of Tofu Knights. Chip Unicorn 17:48, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
I seem to see one on the site (and have thus inserted it) ~ Oni Lukos ct 00:03, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
The ISBN you inserted for Tofu Knights appears to be invalid, per clicking on the ISBN link at the Wikipedia "Book Search" page by clicking the ISBN link). Powers T 02:15, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Odd...it's right on http://www.lulu dot com/content/210586 [this page]... I've now changed it so that it includes the prefix, and has a different hyphenation (which appears to get ignored anyway). ~ Oni Lukos ct 00:01, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] House Rules Parcheesi

As far as I know, House Rules Parcheesi has occurred in only one section of adjacent strips and I'm not sure the amount of space dedicated to it is appropriate. (Also, when it is in the strip the rules are not sufficiently explained to make generalizations of them). RJFJR 20:25, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, it sounds a bit like OR. Powers T 00:34, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
By removing the entry on House Rules Parcheesi, it now makes the link to this page from the Parcheesi page a bit pointless -- anon, 13:47, 5 Dec 2006 (UTC)
Not really. It certainly could be argued that HRP is more important to Parcheesi than it is to Ozy and Millie. Powers T 14:24, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ursa Major

The article says: The strip has also won the 2006 Ursa Major award for Best Anthropomorphic Comic Strip. but that links is to an article on the constellation, not a webcomic award. RJFJR 14:16, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Check out D.C. Simpson's main Ozy and Millie page. It's under one of the updates. Spottedstripe 22:00, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

Ozy and Millie is a really great comic, but the article seems pretty...erm...let's just say it could use work. We need induvidual character pages and stuff like that. I've done some much-needed work on the books section, but the rest has yet to be done. So whaddya say? Let's clean up this mess!! Spottedstripe 21:59, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Well there's the German-language article. As far as character information goes, it offers a lot more information than this one. So anyone who's good with German could translate that. CodeCat 20:21, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Codecat...yeah, you work with "House Rules"! I love the site. Anyhoo, my brother is just about to start a German class in High School, although I doubt that he will want to translate for me. I guess I'll start cleaning up the character articles. OK...here goes nothing!  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 20:35, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Oh, jeez, I don't even know where in the world to start. I'm afraid I'll delete the images by accident...  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 20:37, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
I've worked on translating the original article, and now we have four completely new character descriptions. The update was posted on the O&M WikiFur article a few weeks ago, and I've edited it a little for on Wikipedia. I hope I didn't mess up with anyone else's edits by accident, though. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Millie.png

Image:Millie.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

It's a mystery to me why these 3 images were deleted, but Ozy was not... CodeCat 14:12, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GA on hold

This article is good reading and nicely done so far.

  • Do we have statistics about level of the reader numbers?
  • The years need to be wikilinked, consistently or not linked at all
  • Do we know anything about budget and production costs? Does this person have any staff to help him and so forth?
  • Infobox:"Week day" -> "weekday"?
  • "The comic was part of Keenspot from 2001 to 2003, went independent for several years.[2] It returned to Keenspot in November 2006" - > "The comic was part of Keenspot from 2001 to 2003, going independent for several years, before returning to Keenspot in November 2006" - grammar
  • "Its animal characters, focus on grade-school matters, use of ink and brush as drawing implements and has a cynical-yet-hopeful tone" There's a missing verb here
  • Do we have the name of the college from which the comic originated?
  • "In June 1998, it became Monday-Friday daily strip" -> "In June 1998, it became a Monday-Friday daily strip"
  • "newspaper syndicates college cartoonist award" - > "newspaper syndicates' college cartoonist award"??
  • Please try to integreate one line paragraphs or expand them
  • "Strange" -> why capitalise?
  • The tone of the language needs to be a bit more formal
  • The lead needs to be reworked. The lead is supporse to be for summarising the main body, rather than introducing new content. At the moment, there is information in the lead that is not used in the main body. Thsi should be moved into the main body
  • There needs to be more information about the artistic nature of the comics; details and specifications about the drawing style and that sort of thing
