Oyuu Tolgoi

Oyuu Tolgoi (Mongolian: Оюу Толгой, also Oyu Tolgoi, Turquoise Hill) is location of large copper and gold deposits in Mongolia located about 235 km E of the Ömnögovi Province capital Dalanzadgad in Khanbogd sum (district) of Ömnögovi Province in southern Mongolia. Khanbogd sum center is 40 NE from Oyuu Tolgoi.

Based on an initial 45-year mine life, the Oyu Tolgoi project will require projected total capital costs of US$7.3 billion over the life of the project, making it the largest development project and largest foreign investment undertaking in the history of Mongolia.
