Oystershell scale

Oystershell Scale is a common name used to describe several species of scale insects that are pests of woody plants.

  • Quadraspidiotus ostreaeformis, a pest in New Zealand and Europe, also called the European fruit scale in North America.
  • Lepidosaphes ulmi, a pest in North America, called Apple mussel scale in New Zealand.
